Working with writers is one of the most enjoyable and exposing elements of theatre directing.
I have developed multiple new plays, both for production and new writing programmes. With each, I have improved my dramaturgical skills, approaching conversations with honesty, sensitivity and encouragement, while implementing lessons from previous projects. Selected plays include:
Gentlemen by Matt Parvin - World Premier
Broken Lad by Robin Hooper, former literary manager of the Royal Court
Spun by Rabiah Hussain
Byron: Angel & Outcast, entwining narration with Byron's poetry and journals
Kompromat by David Thame, Chair by Yves Baigneres, Mona's Room by Dianna Hunt, What Happens When You Click On It by Chris Hogg (PlayWROUGHT)
I have also read for competitions including the Popcorn Writing Award, identifying high quality writers for long-listing.
